TUESDAY TAP: Prayer tapping on not enough time to do everything

There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:
2     a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3     a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
4     a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5     a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
6     a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7     a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8     a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.
9 What do workers gain from their toil?--Ecclesiastes 3

Ecclesiastes (aka: The Preacher) did not believe that time was on his side. Nor did he have the feel good vibe of The Byrds hit, Turn, Turn, Turn echoing through his soul. For Ecclesiastes, TIME was at the whim of God (folks in E’s day believed that everything was at the whim of God!) for better or for worse. The differing times and seasons were going to happen no matter what we did, no matter how hard we toiled, so we might as well just hang on and enjoy the ride...well, the parts of the ride that went in our favor. For every other time, there was endurance and complaint.
Still, we try and manage time. We set our watches. Check our calendars. We note the changing seasons and try to get a handle on this elusive fact of life. Often, we are frustrated by our inability to keep up with it. We fall behind and worry that we are running out of time. We fret that there is not enough of it in a day to get everything done that needs to be done...to what end, I am not sure...but that’s what I read on facebook (the Ecclesiastes of our time).
I don’t agree with blaming God for our time issues. It seems to me that there are choices we make and choices others make that cause life to feel frantic.
  • The dog runs out of the house as you’re leaving for a meeting.
  • Your child announces that she has to use the potty just before you leave for work.
  • A classmate has an accident on his way to pick you up for school.
  • Somebody get’s a cold and can’t make the performance.

BOOM! You are late. Behind. Trying to catch up with your day. I can’t imagine the Divine watching over us with a stopwatch and shouting, “Mark, Set, GO!” and then taking pleasure as we fail.
So what do we do with our feelings of not being able to get everything done? If we can’t blame God perhaps we can call on God to help us feel better about the time we are living in, no matter how unmanageable it may feel.

Try saying, “I don’t have enough time to get everything done today.” On a scale of 0-10, how true is that statement? Write that number down. It is a Subjective Unit of Distress (SUD) and you can use it after you pray to help identify how God’s spirit has been working through your concern. If you are new to prayer tapping, read this article about the basic recipe for tapping prayer.
When you are ready to pray, please take responsibility for your participation in tapping prayer, and let’s pray:

Karate Chop: I don’t have time for this prayer, God. You know it. I know it. I’m already late and starting to freak out. My SUD is at a …... and there is no way that this is going to help things. I’ll just get farther behind in my schedule. And I KNOW that Todd says, “it’s not God’s fault” but let me tell you, I’m not too sure about that tapper guy right about now. Alas, here goes (just so I can check it off my list of things to do today...)
Even though I don’t have enough time to get everything done today, I am deeply loved and completely accepted by God. Even though this prayer is taking up my precious time, I am deeply loved and completely accepted by God. Even though I’ll never get everything done today, God completely loves me and accepts me.
Top of head: I don’t have enough time.
Eyebrow: I have so much to do.
Outer eye: The clock just keeps ticking.
Under eye: I’ll never get it all done.
Under nose: I just don’t have enough time
Under lip: tick tick tick tick
Collarbone: I can’t keep up with my schedule today.
Underarms: I’m feeling overwhelmed because I don’t have enough time in my day.
Wrists: I have SOOOOO much to do and SOOOOO little time to do it in.

Top of head: Even though I may not get it all done today, I am deeply loved and completely accepted by God.
Eyebrow: Maybe I could do some of the things on my list.
Outer eye: Maybe I can’t do anything on my list.
Under eye: I wonder which things are most important to do.
Under nose: I have so little time to do the things I need to do.
Under lip: I wonder what would happen if I did less?
Collarbone: The things I have to do are important.
Underarms: God took a day off.
Wrists: The things I have to do must be more important than what God has going on, and I am deeply loved and completely accepted by God.

Top of head: I have so much to do and I am deeply and totally cared for by God.
Eyebrow: I wonder if I could say “no” to some things today, and save them for tomorrow?
Outer eye: Even if I don’t do everything on my list today, I am deeply loved and completely accepted by God.
Under eye: I could use some of my time to take care of myself and the people I love and I am deeply loved and completely accepted by God.
Under nose: I could go shopping for tweezers and I am deeply loved and completely accepted by God.
Under lip: I can choose to let some things go for today and I am deeply loved and completely accepted by God.
Collarbone: I may disappoint someone with my choices, and I am deeply loved and completely accepted by God.
Underarm: Maybe I can forgive myself for the choices I make. Maybe I can forgive those who will be disappointed with my choices.
Wrists: I don’t have enough to time to get everything done today.

Top of head: Even though I don’t have enough time to get everything done today, I am completely loved and deeply accepted by God.

Take a deep breath....and, "thank you God for taking your time to be with me today."
Check your SUD on “I don’t have enough to time to get everything done today.” How true is that statement? Has the number gone up? down? stayed the same? If it is not down to a 0-2, try and identify the issues that are keeping it at a higher number. Write those issues down, and then try and identify a person or event that each issue reminds you of. Give that person or event a SUD, and resume prayer tapping until you experience deep peace around, “I don’t have enough to time to get everything done today.” Chances are, you’ll have just enough time to do this.
Ecclesiastes didn’t take into account the random nature of living. Despite his wisdom, he missed the fact that sometimes life throws us curve balls that are not at all in keeping with God’s desires for us. The great thing is that with God’s help, we can discover time that goes beyond our perception of time, and in the process, experience a Holy peace for ourselves and others around us.
Peace,
todd

THURSDAY THUMP: Prayer tapping on negative people in your life

9 Passing along, Jesus saw a man at his work collecting taxes. His name was Matthew. Jesus said, “Come along with me.” Matthew stood up and followed him.
10-11 Later when Jesus was eating supper at Matthew’s house with his close followers, a lot of disreputable characters came and joined them. When the Pharisees saw him keeping this kind of company, they had a fit, and lit into Jesus’ followers. “What kind of example is this from your Teacher, acting cozy with crooks and riffraff?” --Matthew 9

Sometimes you just can’t get a break...even when you get a break! There is somebody nearby who wants to take the wind out of your sails. Poor Matthew wasn’t the most trusted guy in Bethlehem, but Jesus saw something in him that led him to dine with Matthew. Jesus saw the possibility for Matthew to draw closer to God. Maybe find some healing. Perhaps become a messenger of his Good News. Who knows, he might even write about his experiences with Jesus some day!

But the negative nellies who represented the established religion of the day couldn’t cut Matthew any slack. They couldn’t cut Jesus any slack either, presuming that they understood the situation at hand better than he did. The naysayers had a fit. They lit into Jesus’ followers. They complained, “What kind of example is this from your teacher, acting cozy with crooks and riffraff?”

I’m sure those cruel words did wonders for Matthew’s self esteem, let alone his imagining himself as something better than he already was!

Everybody makes mistakes. Some are real doozies. Everybody has a bad day now and then. We usually don’t need people to remind us of our failures or our humanity. But there they are. On the telephone. In our email. On our news feed. Squawking through Twitter.

You blew it! You’ll never amount to anything. You’re a loser. You’ve always been a failure...you always will be.
If you have a negative person in your life, try and remember a time when their negativity really hurt you. Try and recall how their words or actions created a barrier to your growth as a human being. Assign that person or event a SUD of 0-10. If you don’t know what a SUD is, or you are new to tapping prayer, read my basic recipe by clicking here.
When you are ready to focus God’s healing spirit on the hurt that negative person has brought into your life, please take responsibility for your participation in tapping prayer, and let’s pray!

Karate Chop: Dear God, you know I’m human. You know I make mistakes. You’ve been there for all of them. Hoo boy. It’s a bit embarrassing, and to add insult to injury, I have this negative person in my life who keeps reminding me of how I messed up. I try to make amends. I try to move on. They keep me locked in that moment of humility. They label me “a hopeless case,” and they are getting other people to believe them. I’m starting to believe them. I need your help.
Even though this negative person calls me a hopeless case, I am deeply loved and completely accepted by God. Even though this naysayer continues to hoist my past into full and humiliating view of the public, I am deeply loved and completely accepted by you. Even though this negative person is holding me back, I am completely loved by you...and I am completely accepted by you.
Top of head: I have this negative person in my life.
Eyebrow: This negative person.
Outer eye: This person who labels me a loser...a ne’er do well...riff raff.
Under eye: This person who pushes me down every time I try to get up and move on.
Under nose: This naysayer is really bugging me.
Under lip: This person’s negativity has started to get to me.
Collarbone: People are believing this person’s negative talk about me.
Underarm: I don’t know what to do. I feel trapped.
Wrists: I may be believing some of this negative person’s beliefs about me.

Top of Head: Even though this person is saying negative things about me, I am deeply loved and completely accepted by God.
Eyebrow: Even if I’m as bad as this person is saying, I am deeply loved and completely accepted by God.
Outer eye: I’m probably not THAT bad.
Under eye: This negative person is relentless.
Under nose: I don’t know why they are relentless.
Under lip: When I was a child and someone behaved like this s/he was called a “bully.”
Collarbone: This bully is deeply loved and completely accepted by God.
Underarm: When a bully hurt someone when I was a child, I could find an adult to resolve the issue.
Wrists: Perhaps God can resolve this issue through this tapping prayer.
Top of head: I wonder what’s in it for me to continue my relationship with this person? Maybe I could change this relationship.
Eyebrow: Maybe I could put some limits on this relationship.
Outer eye: The negative person might get upset.
Under eye: I’m upset.
Under nose:I can consider letting go of this negativity.
Under lip: I can consider claiming my own truth.
Collarbone: I am deeply loved and completely accepted by God.
Underarm: I can consider that I am free from this negative person’s remarks and behavior.
Wrists: I have this negative person in my life.
Top or Head: Even though I have this negative person in my life, I am deeply loved and completely accepted by God.

Take a deep breath...and thank God for being with you as an advocate and healer regarding this bully in your life. Check your SUD and determine if the spirit has shifted any when you think about this naysayer who has been bringing you down. If there are any new issues that came up while you were praying, write those down, give them a SUD, and try prayer tapping on those issues.

When Jesus heard the naysayers complaining about Matthew, he let them know that they had it all wrong. He affirmed that Matthew was on the right track and that it was the religious leaders who had some “‘splaining to do.”

Peace,
todd

TUESDAY TAP: prayer tapping on fear

16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.
God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. 17 This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus. 18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. --1 John 4

The early church believed that Jesus’ return was imminent. 1John in particular was preparing for him to come back and physically reestablish God’s reign on earth at any moment. It had been 60 years since the first Easter and folks were wondering...and waiting...and watching. The Christian church has been watching for that moment for 2000 years, which may ultimately be just a blink in God’s time...but it’s a lonnnng time in our life span. Doubts eek in. Fear rears its head.

The early church was dealing with fear. Fear of persecution. Fear of rejection. Fear of abandonment. Fear of falling apart. Fear of being wrong about Jesus coming in the flesh to save them. Fear filled their world from within and beyond themselves.

Maybe you have that experience of fear, too. Perhaps you are experiencing it now. 1John believed that God’s love could help drive out fear. He noted that the elimination of fear was a holy process. It was not a one time fixer upper, but an ongoing journey bringing us closer and closer to God.

1John wisely observed that fear often had to do with punishment.

Do any of your fears connect to a sense of being punished? By someone? Something?
Today we will call on God to help us drive away some fear, and replace it with a peaceful love. Tapping prayer focuses God’s healing on events or issues in our lives that keep us from experiencing peace. Try and identify a single fear that is causing you distress right now. Say, “I am afraid of..........(and fill in the blank).” On a scale of 0-10, how true is that statement for you? 0=not very true. 10-very true. The number you come up with is called a Subjective Unit of Distress. Write it down so that you can refer to it after you do some prayer tapping. If you are new to tapping prayer, read this article first so that you can learn the basic recipe.
Before you begin prayer tapping, please note that sometimes when we are praying for issues like fear, our SUD may suddenly spike upward. This can be very distressing and cause us to feel even more afraid. I am telling you this ahead of the prayer so that if it happens, you will be prepared and know that you can just shift your focus to whatever is causing the SUD to spike, and ask God to shift to that fear instead. There is no need to ignore the strong feeling and muscle forward with your original prayer! God derives no pleasure in your pain. What has probably happened is that the fear you were originally focusing on has been alleviated by God’s love and in the process, a deeper seated fear has bubbled up...blooop!...to the top of your awareness. You can use the same format of the prayer to attend to this new issue. Tapping prayer is a very versatile tool.
Ok? When you are ready to apply God’s healing spirit to your fear, please take responsibility for your participation in tapping prayer, and let’s pray:

Karate Chop: (taking a deep breath) Ok God, here we go. I am nervous just thinking about praying for this thing I fear. I am concerned that invoking its name will somehow hurt me. I need your help. I need your protection while I pray. I need you to fill me with your peace and especially, target the thing that I am praying about today. 1John said that perfect love drives out fear...I’m ready for your love to do its work on me right now. Even though I am afraid of.........., I am deeply loved and completely accepted by God. Even though...........scares me, I am completely loved and deeply accepted by God. Even though...................makes my skin crawl and my heart race (and not in a good way) I am deeply loved and completely accepted by God.
Top of head: I am afraid of …......................
Eyebrow: This.......................makes me feel anxious.
Outer eye: My fear of …...................has a SUD of …...............
Under eye: I can feel my anxiety rising just thinking about.............
Under nose: I’m so afraid of....................
Under lip: I have this fear.
Collarbone: I feel terrified.
Underarm: I am afraid of....................
Wrists: So afraid.

Top of head: Even though I have this fear of …........... I am deeply loved and completely accepted by God.
Eyebrow: This fear has power over me.
Outer eye: This fear keeps me from doing things I want to do.
Under eye: I wonder if this fear is keeping me safe?
Under nose: I can consider feeling safe without this fear.
Under lip: Collarbone: I have this fear.
Underarm: What would happen if I let go of this fear? How would my life change?
Wrists: So much fear.

Top of head: Even though I am afraid of................. I am deeply loved and completely accepted by God.
Eyebrow: Afraid of …..................
Outer eye: Feeling peaceful about.....................
Under eye: I can taste the fear of........................
Under nose: I can consider God’s love replacing this fear.
Under lip: That would be so cool.
Collarbone: Even though I am  considering replacing this fear with God’s love, I am deeply cared for by God.
Underarm: This fear of....................with a SUD of …..................
Wrists: So much love. So much love. So much love.

Top of head: Even though I have this fear of................ I am deeply loved and completely accepted by God.

Deep breath.....and thank you God for sending your spirit to attend to my fear today. You are working on my behalf to bring me peace.

Try saying, “I am afraid of.......................” On a scale of 0-10 how true is that statement? If your SUD went up, what are the issues that raised the number? Try applying God’s love to those concerns. If the number went down, is there any remaining fear? Assign it a SUD and experience the kind of peace and healing that God has in store for you. When God has tamed cleared this particular fear for you, try bringing another fear to God’s attention with tapping prayer.

Being a person of faith does not mean that you will live without fear. In fact, acknowledging our fears is a great way of inviting God’s love into our lives. There is always room for more of that!
Peace,
todd

Thursday Thump: Tapping prayer on sleeplessness

When two full years had passed, Pharaoh had a dream: He was standing by the Nile, 2 when out of the river there came up seven cows, sleek and fat, and they grazed among the reeds. 3 After them, seven other cows, ugly and gaunt, came up out of the Nile and stood beside those on the riverbank.4 And the cows that were ugly and gaunt ate up the seven sleek, fat cows. Then Pharaoh woke up.

5 He fell asleep again and had a second dream: Seven heads of grain, healthy and good, were growing on a single stalk. 6 After them, seven other heads of grain sprouted—thin and scorched by the east wind. 7 The thin heads of grain swallowed up the seven healthy, full heads. Then Pharaoh woke up; it had been a dream.
8 In the morning his mind was troubled, so he sent for all the magicians and wise men of Egypt. Pharaoh told them his dreams, but no one could interpret them for him. Genesis 41: 1-8

Even the most powerful people sometimes have bad dreams, or restless nights of sleep. Pharaoh was managing a lot. He was Egypt with a capital E. There were meetings to attend. Subjects to oppress. Overlords to usurp. It was a lot to juggle. Things were good at the moment. He had it all under control...but what if all that changed? The thought kept him up at night, and furthermore, troubled his days. If Pharaoh was troubled, EVERYONE was troubled.

It works like that at my house, too. One person’s tossing and turning, pacing and prowling, turns into a nightmare for everyone! Our mood turns sour and  our ability to make good decisions get’s cloudy. Sleep is important. Not getting a good night’s sleep can lead to all kinds of health problems. According to WebMD ( Excessive Sleepiness on WebMD) sleeplessness can :

  • Cause accidents
  • Dumb you down
  • Put you at risk for:
      • Heart disease
      • Heart failure
      • Irregular heartbeat
      • High blood pressure
      • Stroke
      • Diabetes
  • Decrease sex drive
  • Contribute to Depression
  • Age your Skin
  • Make you Gain Weight
  • Lower your Longevity
  • Impair your judgement, especially about sleep!

God knows you need some rest.

Today’s Tapping Prayer will seek to bring God’s calming spirit to the issue. If you are not familiar with tapping prayer, read this first. It will teach you the basic recipe for tapping prayer.

When you are ready, think about how it feels to think about having another night of sleeplessness. Give that experience a SUD from 0-10.  Please take responsibility for your participation in tapping prayer, and let’s pray.

Karate Chop: Oi, I’m tired, God! I haven’t had a good night’s sleep in a while. I don’t know exactly why I can’t relax and keep on sleeping through the night (although I do have some suspicions...). I am tired and frustrated, and getting a bit irrational about the prospect of settling in each evening. I need some help. I know that you want me to experience peace, but no matter how hard I try, I just get more fatigued. I’m willing to try this tapping prayer today, because quite frankly, nothing else has worked. Even though I have these sleepless nights, I am deeply loved and completely accepted by God. Even though I toss and turn and can’t get to sleep, I am completely loved and fully accepted by God. Even though I am restless when I should be sleeping, I am held in God’s extravagant love and acceptance.

Top of head: This sleeplessness.

Eyebrow: I can’t relax.

Outer eye: I can relax but then something wakes me up.
Under eye: I can’t fall asleep.
Under nose: I feel anxious about trying to fall asleep.
Under lip: I’m only going to wake up anyways.
Collarbone: What’s the use of trying?
Underarm: I have this sleeplessness.
Wrists: Maybe the mattress is lumpy. Perhaps my pillow is too hard or soft or the blanket keeps mysteriously shifting around my body.
Top of head: Even though I can’t stay asleep all night, I am deeply loved and completely accepted by God.
Eyebrow: I hear the floors creak, or a dog bark, or a mouse scurry in the wall beside me, and I am wide awake.
Outer eye: I remember things that I should have done.
Under eye: I remember things that I need to do.
Under nose: Maybe someone is snoring...loudly...again.
Under lip: I just can’t fall back to sleep.
Collarbone: I’m so frustrated, I could cry.
Underarm: I’ll never sleep again.
Wrists: People will call me THE MONARCH WHO NEVER SLEEPS.
Top of head: Even though I will NEVER sleep soundly again (because I am THE MONARCH WHO NEVER SLEEPS and sleeping would rob me of my title), I am deeply loved and completely accepted by God.
Eyebrow: I wonder if I could pass some of my anxiety on to God? I wonder if God could hold on to my frustration until the morning? If I had a better night’s sleep I could handle things in the morning.
Outer eye: Maybe I was yelled at as a kid when I didn’t go to sleep at night.
Under eye: Even If I got yelled at as a kid for not being asleep, I am deeply loved and completely accepted by God.
Under nose: Even though when I was a kid the sounds I heard in the middle of the night might have scared me, I am deeply loved and completely accepted by God. God is watching out for me. God is caring for me.
Under lip: Even if I don’t feel safe in the night, I am deeply loved and completely accepted by God.
Collarbone: Maybe I can rest my eyes even if I can’t go back to sleep. Even if I am just resting my eyes I am deeply loved and completely accepted by God.
Underarm: Even if I never sleep again, I am deeply loved and completely accepted by God.
Wrists: Even if I sleep a deep and restful sleep, I am deeply loved and completely accepted by God.
Top of Head: Even though I have this restlessness when I could be sleeping, and even though that restlessness causes me to feel anxious...or frustrated...I am deeply loved and completely accepted by God.

God I thank you for sending me your spirit of peace to address this issue of sleeplessness. I might be willing to give up my title in order to let you do your healing work in me. Perhaps if I sleep, they will call me a King or a Queen of Peace instead. Honestly, I don’t need titles. I just need you. Amen.

Take a deep breath....and let it out. Check your SUD around sleeplessness. Did any of the scenarios in the prayer cause your SUD to skyrocket? If so, take those issues to God and pray them down to a 0-2. Use specific language associated with your concern, and keep the focus on the problem instead of the solution. God desires you to have peace. Try and trust that to be true. The Spirit will bring you to that peace, one way or another.
Sweet dreams sweet Prince and Princesses.
-Todd

Tapping Tuesday prayer on doubt

24 Now Thomas, one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came (on Easter). 25 So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord!”
But he said to them, “Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.”
26 A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” 27 Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.”
28 Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!”
29 Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” --John 20

I can’t believe it!

Show me the money!

I doubt it.
Never in a million years.

We’ve all said it. We’ve all felt it. Something is so unbelievable, so beyond what our imaginations can comprehend, that we demand proof. You may have even had that experience around tapping prayer!
We chant with Thomas, “Unless I see it, and feel it, I will not believe it.” Sometimes our doubt is warranted, but since I began prayer tapping, I wonder if there are at least as many (if not more) times when our doubt is either an excuse, or a declaration of our own limited vision.
What if our doubt was really based in a limiting belief about God’s involvement in our life? What if the Holy really did want to help us lose weight, or get that job we wanted, or mend that fence that had been broken for so many years? Could it be that Jesus’ spirit might even make it possible for us to draw closer to God, despite the nasty way we had treated the Divine? That seems to be what John is saying. Even though Thomas had his doubts about Jesus’ resurrection, Jesus comes to Thomas and takes him by the hand. He puts Tom’s fingers on the answer to his doubts, to his limited beliefs about what is possible with God on the case. There is no chastising. There is only healing. Healing for Tom. Healing for us.
What are you doubtful of today? Your ability to find happiness? Your capacity to pay your bills? Your potential to feel less pain?
Imagine that Jesus has just walked into the room, and he is guiding your hands toward the tapping points on your body. He wants to heal your doubt. He wants to share his peace.

After identifying a doubt or a limiting belief, check out that belief’s SUD. (If this is your first time trying tapping prayer, click this link to learn the basic recipe) On a scale of 0-10 how much does this doubt upset you? Frustrate you? Keep you from feeling peace? Write that number down.

Now, try and think of the first time you had this doubt? Where did you learn about it? Who taught you to have doubt around this issue? If you can’t remember, no worry. I’ll take care of that in the prayer.

When you are ready, please take responsibility for your participation in tapping prayer, and let’s pray:

Thomas is my mentor, God. I doubt all kinds of things. I doubt the veracity of stories I hear from my friends. I doubt my ability to execute particular tasks. I doubt the existence of the Loch Ness Monster. Like Thomas, unless I see it, or feel it, I cannot believe it. Unfortunately, some of my doubts are getting in the way of my happiness. They are limiting my peace. They are making a statement about you, that I am uncomfortable with. Help my disbelief today, God. Heal this particular doubt that I am bringing before you. Help me feel your peace, so that I will take chances to heal from other doubts in my life. Hear me as I pray.
Karate Chop: Even though I have this doubt, I am deeply loved and completely accepted by God. Even though I can’t believe this issue I am thinking about, God loves me unconditionally. Even though I have this limiting belief about the this issue that has a SUD of …...., I am deeply loved and completely accepted by you.
Top of head: This doubt.
Eyebrow: This limiting belief.
Outer eye: It could never be true.
Under eye: It couldn’t happen.
Under nose: I have this doubt.
Under lip: I have this inability to believe this...
Collarbone: I’ve gotta see it to believe it.
Underarm: I need evidence.
Wrists: I have evidence that my disbelief is holding me back.
Top of head: I have evidence that I am not as peaceful as I’d like to be.
Eyebrow: I have this limiting belief.
Outer eye: Maybe I know where it came from.
Under eye: Maybe it is connected to fear.
Under nose: Maybe it is connected to sadness.
Under lip: Maybe it is limiting me like it limited the people who taught it to me.
Collarbone: I have this doubt.
Underarm: I didn’t ask for it.
Wrists: I wonder if I need it?
Top of head: What would happen if I let it go?
Eyebrow: I wonder what would change if I let go of this limiting belief?
Outer eye: I might have to think about the world in new ways.
Under eye: I might disappoint whoever gave me this doubt.
Under nose: I hate letting people down.
Under lip: I’m not thrilled with how holding onto this disbelief makes me feel, either.
Collarbone. Even though I have this doubt, I am deeply loved and completely accepted by God.
Underarm: I am deeply loved and completely accepted by God.
Wrists: Even if I choose to let go of this doubt I am deeply loved and completely accepted by God.
Top of head: I am deeply loved and completely accepted by God.

Take a deep breath...I thank you, God for taking my hands and putting them in holy places so that I could begin to experience your caring around my disbelief. Help me to be attuned to how your spirit has been working to heal me in this prayer. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

Check your SUD around the doubt you began with. Is it higher or lower or just the same. Remember that the more specific your language is the more focused God’s healing will be around a particular doubt or disbelief. If you have anxiety about not knowing what to do if you let go of your doubt, try prayer tapping on that anxiety.

Jesus didn’t chastise Thomas for his doubts. Instead, Jesus set about to help Thomas heal. Hopefully this prayer has brought you some healing. If it was helpful, please feel free to let me know, or try it on some other doubts. Perhaps there are more possibilities for us than we have been able to imagine before now.
Peace,
